One of the best action comedies ever made in my opinion is Hudson Hawk (1991).
Starring Bruce Willis (with hair!) as Hudson Hawk it is a brilliant mix of action, adventure and comedy. Hudson Hawk, the worlds greatest cat burglar, is finally out of jail, has never heard of Nintendo, and all he wants is a Cappuccino. But the road to good coffee is lined with great obstacles Not all bad though, his acquaintance with Dr Anna Baragli (Andie MacDowell) is both of some trouble, confusion and pleasure…for both of them.
Bad guys are everywhere and it’s difficult to know who is on your side and who isn’t. The leading bad guy being Darwin Mayflower (Richard E. Grant, who happens to also be in the last movie I blogged about, as Sir Andrew Aguecheek), a millionaire longing for world domination. To give an example of other known actors, one of the minions is Kit Kat, played by pre-CSI Miami David Caruso. But Hudson Hawk gets a rare chance to travel the world, although not exactly first class, in the search of some of Leonardo DaVinci’s masterpieces.
If you like simple but effective humour, quirky bad guys, and good songs, this is definitely the movie for you. Did I mention Hudson and his sidekick Tommy Five-Tone (Danny Aiello) don’t use the wonderful invention that is a watch? Oh no, their cat-burgling schemes are timed by singing, requiring them to have a perfect memory of song lyrics and lengths.

Wonderfully silly isn’t it?
If you enjoyed that little clip and have not seen this masterpiece before, find it now. Watch it. You won’t regret it. It’s a classic that should not go unseen by any human.
